The Tullamore Show 2019 was the first event I attended "officially" as an "official" volunteer photographer (Thanks Ciara K!). It was a great practice opportunity to go there and to take photos of people, animals and "stuff".
Note that it was a big challenge for me to ask total strangers if I could take a photo of themselves. Funnily, none of the exhibiters refused, so the proverb is true: if you don't ask, you don't get.
I already shared photos with the organisers and some were published online, but I wanted to add them here as well, to remember.
Camera used: Canon EOS 1200D, EFS 50mm, EF 18-55mm, EF 55-250mm, No Flash.
Unfortunately, this means that photos are not as sharp, bright and clear as they could have been with a better equipment. Looking at them with a little perspective, I'm glad I decided to invest in a more advanced gear.
Howdy? You couldn't miss that friendly cowboy, representing the RSA (Road Safety Autority). Unfortunately, it was the first portrait I took that day and I made rookie mistakes: I should have placed him elsewhere than beside a door, taking the sun direction into account. Portrait photography can be very challenging when you only have 1-2 tries. Next year I hope!
Tullamore show is a yearly National agricultural show that you can't miss. It's an opportunity to showcase your animals (cows, horse, chicken, sheep etc.) and your local products.
What's going on? Well, anyone can enter a competition (crafts, photography, cooking, painting, floral arrangement etc.), which is judged. I thought it was fun to take that one, as some can't wait to know their results...
