Paimpol's Festival du chant de marin 2023

I had heard of Paimpol's Festival du chant de marin (Sailor's song festival) for many years, but I had never attended it. As the weather was promised to be good for it, I decided to give it a go in 2023: it would be something new to do and a good photo opportunity. The festival lasted 3 days but I only went there for 1 day and made the most of it. Great atmosphere, superb singing, nice music from all over France and Europe. There was really a lot to see and do all the over Paimpol's port, but this also meant you couldn't see it all...

From a photography point of view, there were a few challenges that day: there was no rain, but the sun played hide and seek all day (camera settings had to be constantly changed). The crowd was difficult to avoid (impossible to shoot an artist without someone in the background/foreground), some groups also had many members and it was tough finding the right angle to get a cool shot. Anyway, I also enjoy capturing the atmosphere.

Gears used: Canon EOS R, RF 24-105mm/RF 100-400mm, no flash.
